Harness The Power of Data Analysis

With this funded training, you will access extensive courses that will put you at the forefront of a rapidly growing industry of data analysis. This interactive session will show you the power of Excel to design and manipulate data, be able to create formulas that not only tidy data but alert you of trends and pull information from other sources such as Database (SQL) or other Excel Spreadsheets. By the end you will know how to work with every formula, create interactive Dashboards, learn how Macros and Power Query can be used to stop repetitive commands and learn the power of Power BI to let your data come to life.

Our Skills Bootcamps are funded by the Department For Education, for businesses and individuals in the Cheshire/Warrington or Liverpool City Region to help up-skill in vital Digital areas. Training is FREE for unemployed/self-employed individuals and is 90% or 70% funded for existing business staff, subject to eligibility.

Training Duration: 8 Days

Week 1
Introduction to Data Analysis, Excel Recap and Overview of everyday features of Excel, Range Names, Introduction to Analysis Formulas, Date Functions, Formatting and working with data, Formulas for tidying up data.

Week 2

Excel Advanced Functions, Lookup and Information Functions, SubTotals, General Analysis Tools, Formulae Auditing, Pivot Tables.

Week 3

Excel VBA, Recording Macros, Visual Basic Editor, Understanding VBA, Procedures, Using Excel Objects, Creating Custom Forms, Creating Error Handling Procedures.

Week 4

Excel Dashboards, Collecting Information, Presenting Information.

Week 5

Power Query in Excel, Connection Types, Data Preparation.

Week 6

Power Pivot, Working with Multiple Table Data Sources, Key Performance Indicators, Working With Slicers, The Diagram View, Working with DAX.

Week 7 & 8

Basic Reports, Data Sources, Query Editor, Advanced Query Editor, Multiple Tables, Parameters, Filtering Data 'Slicers', Formatting Visualisations, Maps, Calculated Columns, Measures, Calendars, Date Functions, Advanced Measures, Roles and Security, Publishing Reports, Power BI Service Overview, Using Power BI Service, Overview of Excel Tools, Overview of Other Tools.

Extra Support

Unemployed learners will receive additional employability support to kick-start their career using the skills they have learnt on the bootcamp. Upon completion, you will also receive a guaranteed interview with an employer looking for someone with your skills.

Self-employed learners will receive support to write a business action plan to help grow their business.

Employed learners will receive support to take on new responsibilities or a new job role within their existing employer.

Eligibility

For Self-Employed - FREE

- Business must be based within the Liverpool City Region or Cheshire/Warrington.

- Attendee must be looking to gain new skills for new business opportunities.

- Attendee must be willing to provide an action plan of how training will be used.
- Have the right to work in the UK/have a National Insurance Number.

- Been a UK resident for at least 3 years or meet certain refugee status.

- Haven't attended another Skills Bootcamp recently.

- Must be aged 19+.

- Must be able to attend all training days.

If Employed - 90% funded for SME’s and 70% funded if over 250 employees

- Workplace must be located within the Liverpool City Region or Cheshire/Warrington.

- Attendee must be looking to re-skill or significantly develop their current role.
- Have the right to work in the UK/have a National Insurance Number.

- Haven't attend another Skills Bootcamp recently.

- Been a UK resident for at least 3 years or meet certain refugee status.
- Must be aged 19+
- Your role/responsibilities must change as a result of training to incorporate skills.

- Must be able to attend all training days.

If Unemployed - FREE

- Must be based within Liverpool City Region or Cheshire/Warrington.

- Must be looking to return to work in a career that utilises the skills learnt.

- Have the right to work in the UK/have a National Insurance Number.

- Been a UK resident for a minimum of 3 years (certain refugee status are acceptable).

- Must be aged 19+.

- Must be able to attend all training days.

Will I receive a certificate for this training?

Upon 100% completion of our training, you will receive a certificate of completion and extensive manuals for each software.

Do I have to attend all training sessions?

For our funded training, you do have to commit to attending all training dates. It is therefore important you ensure this before committing.

What if I can no longer make a session?

It is important when signing up for training that you commit to the original dates. However, in extreme circumstances our team will review this and move you onto alternative dates.

What times are the training sessions delivered?

Our courses are delivered 09:30 - 16:30 online through Teams or Zoom with a trainer guiding you through the content.
